    ASBMR Visits Capitol Hill to Advocate for Sustained Funding for Research

    Last week ASBMR leaders visited Washington, D.C. to advocate on Capitol Hill for sustained and predictable increases to NIH funding, discuss the importance of rare bone disease and address to crisis in treatment of osteoporosis, including the improvement of office-based DXA reimbursement. With the help from four patient participants, ASBMR leaders visited 26 congressional offices, representing ten states and ten congressional districts and together urged their representatives to make funding NIH at $34.1 billion in FY2017 a priority.
