The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) is responsible for overseeing the scientific and clinical editorial content of the 9th Edition Primer. The Primer is widely recognized as the most authoritative summary reference work in the field of bone and mineral metabolism. The EIC is expected to ensure that the content of the Primer remains comprehensive and up-to-date.
The Editor-in-Chief’s responsibilities include:
- Selecting Senior Associate Editors (SAEs) and Associate Editors (AEs) subject to the approval of the ASBMR Publications Committee
- Working with the Senior Associate Editors and Associate Editors to determine the editorial scope and balance of the 9th edition and ensure that the Primer remains a comprehensive work that includes newly emerging areas of the field
- Collaborating with ASBMR staff and the publisher to ensure that the Primer is published on schedule, within budget, and conforms to the highest scientific and ethical standards.
Application materials may be submitted through the ASBMR website (you must be logged on to access this page).
The qualifications of each applicant will be reviewed by a Primer Editor-in-Chief Search Committee composed of internationally recognized bone scientists experienced with the publication and the finalists will interview by conference call with the Committee. The Search Committee’s recommendation is expected to be approved by the ASBMR Council in October 2015 and the new Editor-in-Chief will take up duties immediately thereafter.
