ASBMR Announces $1 Million in Research Funding for Members
Date: September 03, 2013
ASBMR has announced its commitment to provide $1 million in research funding through a newly established ASBMR Grants in Aid Program (GAP). The program was established in response to the difficult funding climate that is occurring worldwide and impacting the future of bone and mineral research. The GAP program will offer twenty (20) grants of $50,000 USD to ASBMR members who have submitted a peer-reviewed grant application to a major funding sponsor within the last 15 months and received a full review but were not funded. The goal of the grant is to allow the award recipient to continue to develop the research and strengthen the proposal for future funding. The grant program is open to established and young investigators, and to U.S. and international members. International members living outside the United States are encouraged to apply.
The ASBMR GAP Awards Committee will be comprised of US and international members and the review process will ensure a fair review for all applications. Applications will be accepted beginning September 23, 2013, with a deadline of November 4, 2013, and in three cycles in 2014. More information is available at on the ASBMR website.
