Robert Adler, M.D., Named Co-Chair of National Bone Health Alliance

ASBMR Councilor Robert Adler, M.D. was recently named co-chair of the National Bone Health Alliance (NBHA). Dr. Adler is Professor of Internal Medicine, Epidemiology and Community Health, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and Chief, Endocrinology and Metabolism, McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Richmond, VA. He is past chair of the ASBMR Professional Practice Committee and is also co-chair of the ASBMR Task Force on Managing Osteoporosis Patients after Long-Term Bisphosphonate Treatment.
The NBHA is a public-private partnership launched in 2010 that brings together the expertise and resources of its member organizations to promote bone health and prevent disease, improve diagnosis and treatment of bone disease, and enhance bone research, surveillance and evaluation. ASBMR and the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) co-founded the NBHA, and ASBMR and NOF representatives serve as co-chairs.
