Date: October 30, 2012
In an effort to incorporate laboratory discoveries into clinical practice, the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases has funded two new Centers of Research Translation (CORTs) and has promised to continue funding two existing Centers. The Centers address a disease within the NIAMS mission and approach problems with multidisciplinary efforts. One Center is focusing on Translating Molecular Signal Pathways to Orthopaedic Trauma Care, and is headed by Regis O'Keefe, M.D., Ph.D., at the University of Rochester. For more information on the CORTs, visit the NIAMS website.
