Research Funding Available Through US SBIR/STTR Programs
Date: April 16, 2013
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a US government program in which a percentage of the total extramural research budgets of all federal agencies, including NIH, are reserved for contracts or grants to small businesses. The SBIR and related Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program encourage domestic small businesses to engage in federal research or research and development that has the potential for commercialization. Over half the SBIR/STTR awards are to firms with fewer than 25 people and a third to firms of fewer than 10. Learn more about funding opportunities through the SBIR/SBTT programs here.
