Outreach to Primary Care Providers with Osteoporosis Curriculum
Date: September 03, 2013
ASBMR has launched an osteoporosis education initiative developed to provide focused and effective continuing education programs for primary care providers working with osteoporosis patients in order to enable them to meet the increased demand to appropriately assess, diagnose, and treat patients at risk for fracture. Entitled Improving the Identification and Management of Osteoporosis: A Curriculum for the PCP, the program includes 10 live sessions at state family physician conferences and a new website (www.OsteoCME.org) that hosts enduring materials for clinicians to gain additional education and resources, including CME podcasts, webinars and standardized patient videos.
The initiative also provides participants with information on how they can utilize currently existing osteoporosis Performance Improvement CME (PI-CME) and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) part IV-approved modules. This activity is supported by an educational grant from Amgen, Inc. and Lilly. Visit www.OsteoCME.org for more information.
