Laura Calvi, M.D. Receives the Fuller Albright Esteemed Award

Laura Calvi, M.D., is this year’s Fuller Albright Award recipient. The award recognizes meritorious scientific accomplishment in the bone and mineral field to an ASBMR member who has not yet reached his or her 45th birthday.
Dr. Calvi completed her clinical and research training in Endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Her research program focuses on hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and the microenvironment, or niche, in which they reside, and her most recent work elucidates skeletal consequences of leukemia in murine models. Dr. Calvi is also a Pew Scholar in Biomedical Sciences and a Lawrence A. Kohn Teaching Fellow.
Dr. Calvi, along with other Esteemed Award winners, will participate in the Leadership Forum: Conversations with Esteemed Award Winners that will take place at the 2012 ASBMR Annual Meeting.
