Grant Opportunity to Advance Effectiveness Research and Implementation Science in Academic Medical Centers - AAMC Now Accepting RFPs
Date: May 07, 2013
The Association of American Medical Colleges’ Research on Care Community (ROCC) and the Donaghue Foundation are accepting requests for proposals (RFPs) for a new funding opportunity entitled “Advancing Effectiveness Research and Implementation Science in our Own Backyards: AAMC/Donaghue Grant Opportunity for Academic Centers.” The grant seeks to stimulate innovative, interdisciplinary research to improve the quality, safety, equity, and system effectiveness of a health care system and provide mechanisms for rapid adoption and implementation.
Investigators are asked to select one health outcome or health inequity for improvement, and then design, carry out, and evaluate a related evidence-based intervention. Areas of research may address a wide variety of topics, including treatment of specific conditions, patient groups, or care processes (e.g., transitions in care). The selection of research area should be developed collaboratively with clinical partners and be seen as a high priority for the health system.
The RFP and a webinar discussing the opportunity are now available on the ROCC website. The webinar features Dr. Ann Bonham, Chief Scientific Officer at the AAMC, and Dr. Lynne Garner, President of the Donaghue Foundation. The RFP submission deadline is June 24, 2013. For more information about the RFP, contact Alexander Ommaya, D.Sc. at firstname.lastname@example.org.
