  • The application deadline for the 2024 ASBMR Student Cohort Program has closed. Applicants will be notified of their status in early March.

    The cohort program is designed for undergraduate, graduate, and medical professional students involved in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. Accepted applicants of the cohort program will benefit from free ASBMR membership (limited to first year participants) as well as monthly webinars covering a wide range of topics relating to professional and career development. During these sessions, students will be given the opportunity to participate and network. Students will be asked to provided feedback on their experiences with the program and other areas of ASBMR membership.

    Eligibility:

    All applicants must be Undergraduate/Graduate/Medical Professional current students performing basic/translational/clinical research in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. Students must provide an anticipated graduation date as part of their application to verify their student status. Students who anticipate graduating in Spring 2024 are still encouraged to apply for this cohort.

    Application:

    Applicants must complete an online application. The application must include a letter of support from an ASBMR member in good standing (mentor, co-mentor, or institution-affiliated) as well as a letter indicating how participating in this cohort will enhance their overall scientific career goals. Both letters should be no more than one-page in length. Accepted file types include .doc, .docx, and .pdf.

    Notification of Acceptance Into Cohort:

    Applications will be reviewed upon submission. Accepted applicants will be notified by the ASBMR offices of their acceptance.

    Expectations/Cohort Commitment:

    Accepted applicants agree to participate in at least 50% of the monthly educational and networking activities that will be coordinated on behalf of this cohort. A calendar of events will be posted for the cohort events for planning purposes.

    Accepted applicants also agree to participate in 100% of focus group surveys and questionnaires that will be distributed to the group during various times throughout the year.
