As a leader in ASBMR, the Editor-in-Chief develops and implements the vision and goals for the Journal and is responsible for selecting and publishing the highest quality science in the bone, mineral and musculoskeletal field. ASBMR Expands Travel Support to Attend This Year’s Annual Meeting
This year, ASBMR has doubled the amount of money it is providing to support early career and mid-career member attendance to the Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas, USA. To be eligible for this support, members must submit an abstract to the Annual Meeting by the May 4 submission deadline and meet the individual eligibility criteria for the award program(s) in which they apply. These award programs include: Travel GrantsNumerous travel grant support ranging from $400-$1,500 is available to members from trainees through mid-career level to offset their travel expenses to attend the meeting or assist with supporting their family while they are attending the Annual Meeting. Underrepresented Minority Mentorship AwardsAvailable to early career members that identify as an under-represented minority, this award program provides $1,000 USD to offset the recipient’s expenses attend in-person the ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting. Young Investigator AwardsASBMR offers numerous awards to showcase the top-ranking research submitted by early career investigators which include honoraria from $1,000 to $1,500. Announcing the Sixteenth Fellows Forum on Metabolic Bone Diseases Held Immediately Prior to the ASBMR Annual Meeting
The Endocrine Fellows Foundation (EFF) and the ASBMR are pleased to offer fellows training in osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases a unique opportunity to participate in the Sixteenth Fellows Forum on Metabolic Bone Diseases, September 7-8, 2022. The EFF-ASBMR Fellows Forum will be in Austin, Texas, USA immediately prior to the ASBMR Annual Meeting, September 9-12, 2022. Trainees in the following three categories are encouraged to apply.
- MD in an accredited, relevant specialty training program (1st, 2nd, or 3rd year)
- PhD in a post-doctoral program (for not more than 3 years)
- PhD trainee
To ensure effective discussions among faculty and fellows, the number of attendees is limited to 60. Selected fellows are expected to participate in both the Fellows Forum and the ASBMR Annual Meeting. Preference for the Forum will be given to fellows who have submitted abstracts to both the ASBMR Annual Meeting and the Fellows Forum. The same abstract can be submitted to both the Fellows Forum and the ASBMR meeting. Use this link to access the ASBMR Abstract Center and to learn more about ASBMR travel grants to support fellows’ participation at the Annual Meeting. Fellows accepted to participate in the Forum will receive additional travel support to cover the additional hotel nights and flight costs. Use this link to download the Fellows Forum application.
