ASBMR and the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) are partnering to realize US Medicare reimbursement for Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) in 2023! Medicare reimbursement for FLS will have an immediate and profound impact in the United State in identifying and treating patients that have experienced an osteoporotic fracture. ASBMR and BHOF will host a two-day Virtual Hill Day event February 16-17. U.S.-based volunteers are needed to meet with their members of Congress and urge them to contact the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and ask them to make FLS coverage a priority! ASBMR has created a Social Media Committee and is seeking members to serve on the newly formed group. The charges of the committee are to amplify society messages through individual social media channels, encourage ASBMR member engagement on social media, and to raise awareness of ASBMR programs, initiatives, and priorities. Career-Life Balance Initiative Recipients Announced!
The Career-Life Balance Initiative supports female members by providing supplemental funding to ensure the continuity of their research during childbirth and maternity‐related events. The pilot program aims to not only support the advancement of promising research in the field, but also to enable recipients to continue to grow their careers in the musculoskeletal field. Pfizer Global Medical Grants (GMG) supports the global healthcare community’s independent initiatives (e.g., research, quality improvement, or education) to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need that are aligned with Pfizer’s medical and/or scientific strategies. Pfizer’s GMG competitive grant program involves a publicly posted general Request for Proposal (RFP) that provides detail regarding a general area of interest, sets timelines for review and approval, and uses an internal Pfizer review process to make final grant decisions. Authors are invited to the Presidential Poster Session on March 26 to contribute to the scientific content of the Congress by presenting their work, as their contributions are an essential part of the scientific program. Deadline for presenting the abstract to be revised by the Scientific Committee is 17th February 2023, 23:59 CET. Authors and co-authors will receive acceptance/rejection notifications on 1st March 2023.
