To celebrate International Paget's Awareness Day, The Paget's Association is releasing a series of short videos focusing on The Treatment Story. Professor Stuart Ralston interviews Professors Graham Russell, Ian Reid and Mike Rogers, and Dr. Roger Smith, to track the history and future of bisphosphonates. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Toby King on December 29, 2020 following a long battle with cancer. Mr. King until his retirement last month served as Executive Director of the U.S. Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI), an international collaborative movement created to raise the priority of musculoskeletal health among researchers, educators, clinical practitioners and patients. ASBMR has been a member of the USBJI since its inception nearly two decades ago. Mr. King was a unifying force and strong advocate for musculoskeletal health. He was also an ally to issues of great importance to the Society most recently serving as a member of the ASBMR Secondary Fracture Prevention Initiative Coalition in his capacity as USBJI Executive Director. The United States Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) and Joint Canada is currently accepting applications for the 2021 grant mentoring and career development program. The program consists of two workshops where early-career basic and clinical investigators have the opportunity to work with experienced researchers who will assist them in securing funding and other survival skills for pursing an academic career. The Spring Workshop is April 23-25, 2021 in Chicago, IL, USA. The application deadline is next Friday, January 15, 2021. For more information on the grant program click here.

National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) invites applications for the Centers of Research Translation Program (CORT). The CORT program fosters research that is translational in nature within the NIAMS mission and should be carred out by a synergistic team of scientists through an interdisciplinary team approach.
