Message from ASBMR President Mary L. Bouxsein, Ph.D. – November 10, 2022
Dear Colleagues: I am honored to write this first message as ASBMR President. There has been a great deal of activity in the Society as we continue to drive our overall mission of advancing bone, mineral and musculoskeletal science worldwide, promoting the translation of basic and clinical research to improve human health.
Key to achieving our mission is the Society’s strategic priorities which outlines what we hope to achieve within the next few years. The current strategic priorities, which conclude at the end of this calendar year, have served the Society well since being implemented in 2019. The ASBMR 2023-2025 Strategic Priorities are the culmination of numerous discussions held with ASBMR Councilors, committee chairs and staff over the past nine months to identify where we should focus our efforts. Our four strategic priorities are:
- Improve the Awareness, Diagnosis and Treatment of Musculoskeletal Diseases
- Lead the Research Agenda in Musculoskeletal Science
- Expand and Support Our Global Community
- Invest in the Future of the Field
