The ASBMR Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee invites you to participate in the first session in the new ASBMR Member Spotlight Series- formerly called Research Interest Meetings - on Thursday, October 22 at 3:00 PM ET. This series aims in particular to shine a light on the research being done by ASBMR members belonging to groups underrepresented in biomedical research (i.e., Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians or Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders), but ALL members are invited to participate in these sessions. Highlighting our members’ diversity is not only reflective of the world, but will make our community more innovative and able to produce better scientific research. Each Spotlight will feature 1-2 members presenting on a current research project over 15-20 minutes each. Following each short presentation, there is an opportunity for Q&A and discussion with the audience. If you are interested in presenting your research on a Member Spotlight please follow the link below to complete the Presenter Form at the bottom of the page. Once you complete the form, you will be contacted directly to confirm your presentation. In addition, you may recommend another member for a Member Spotlight presentation. If so, please make this indication on the form and an invitation will be sent on your behalf. If you would like to simply attend a Member Spotlight, please register here.

The World Osteoporosis Day (WOD) 2020 campaign calls for raising global awareness of the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis. The campaign will emphasize the direct link between osteoporosis (the silent, underlying disease) and broken bones, which have a serious, life-changing impact in terms of pain, disability, lost independence and inability to carry out tasks of everyday life. Join ASBMR in raising awareness of bone health and calling for action on osteoporosis and fracture prevention in their communities. You can also join the conversation and build awareness by following the hashtag #worldosteoporosisday. For more information, visit the World Osteoporosis Day website. In honor of World Osteoporosis Day we are asking you to be IN this with us and support future osteoporosis research through your donation to the ASBMR Fund for Research and Education.
