Letter from ASBMR President Teresita Bellido, Ph.D.
I recognize that the past few weeks have been ones of uncertainty as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has disrupted both our professional and personal lives. With this in mind, ASBMR is extending this year’s Annual Meeting abstract submission deadline to May 27, 2020 with the aim to allow all of us more time to prepare our submissions. Because of this extension, there will be no late-breaking abstract submissions accepted for this year’s meeting.
We are planning for a great 2020 Annual Meeting, and at this time, our meeting is continuing as planned, September 11 – 14, 2020 in Seattle, Washington, USA. We are also assessing alternative methods of delivering the meeting program, recognizing there are those who will be unable to participate in-person.
For more than 40 years, the ASBMR Annual Meeting has been the best place for us to share our research and knowledge with the bone, mineral and musculoskeletal research community, and our 2020 Annual Meeting will be no exception. We encourage you to submit your abstract today and continue to share your scientific research with our community. As in prior years, all accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR®). Visit the ASBMR website for more information on the 2020 Annual Meeting, as well as information regarding our updated Abstract Submission Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Finally, during this time, it may feel like the world has been put on hold, but your professional development doesn’t have to be. ASBMR is here for you with education resources to help you continue your learning. Take advantage of the entire range of Society webinars and collections across numerous topic areas by visiting the ASBMR Education Resource Center.
