Washington, DC (September 2, 2008) - Marc K. Drezner, M.D. will begin his term as President of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) on September 16, 2008, the final day of the ASBMR 30th Annual Meeting in Montréal, Quebéc, Canada. "I am honored to serve ASBMR, its mission and its members," Dr. Drezner stated. He became senior associate dean for clinical and translational research at UW Madison in 2008, where he also serves as Chief of the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at the University.

Dr. Drezner has previously served as Endocrinology Section head and the director of the Endocrinology training program at the Duke University Center in Durham, North Carolina, where he was appointed a professor of medicine in 1975.
