ASBMR has been monitoring the development of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its global impact. As your scientific home, and that of so many others around the world, our thoughts are with all who have been affected by this global health crisis in one way or another.
True to our mission, ASBMR brings together the international bone, mineral and musculoskeletal community, working to advance the field and improve human health through research—with our annual scientific meeting serving as the central venue for that in-person connection and collaboration that is so important to our field.
At this time, we want to reassure you that the ASBMR 2020 Annual Meeting, taking place September 11–14, 2020, in Seattle, Washington, USA will proceed as planned. ASBMR’s leadership and staff are exploring various execution plans to ensure the safety of attendees onsite, and assessing the potential need for alternative methods of delivering the meeting program and content.
In light of this, we have opened our abstract center for submissions and it will remain open through Wednesday, April 29. Whether the Annual Meeting happens in person or in an alternative format, we will still provide a vehicle for the best cutting edge scientific research in bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal health to be shared with colleagues, and offer opportunities for the collaboration and networking that advances our field.
ASBMR recognizes the uncertainty surrounding this situation, and our primary concern will always be the health and safety of our ASBMR community. As such, we will continue to track guidelines and updates from numerous health authorities and relevant agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), providing you the resources you need to make informed decisions.
If you have any questions or concerns, or need additional information, please contact us at asbmr@asbmr.org. In the meantime, please stay tuned to the ASBMR website for additional information and updates.
