Diversity in Bone and Mineral Research Subcommittee
The Subcommittee is charged with increasing membership, facilitating the participation, and promoting the professional development of diverse groups within ASBMR. As described by the American Association of Medical Colleges, “diversity as a core value embodies inclusiveness, mutual respect, and multiple perspectives and serves as a catalyst for change resulting in health equity.” The Subcommittee is committed to the inclusiveness and participation of the Society’s diverse members, with a particular focus on individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups and individuals with disabilities.
Our goals are to:
- Increase the diversity of our members engaged in the bone and mineral research field by providing access to resources and training
- Promote the advancement of research and careers for diverse members through professional opportunities and leadership positions within the Society
- Develop relationships with other organizations to foster collaboration and raise awareness of ASBMR
