All articles published by JBMR® Plus are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. To cover the cost of publishing, JBMR® Plus charges a publication fee. JBMR® Plus does not charge a submission fee.
- The JBMR® Plus publication charge for authors submitting directly to the journal is $2,500/£1,667/€2,252, lower than the standard open access fees
- Authors who choose to transfer their manuscript from JBMR to JBMR Plus will receive a 20% discount on APCs ($2,000/£1,334/€1,802)
- ASBMR members can enjoy a 15% discount on APCs ($2,125/£1,417/€1,914)
Discounts cannot be combined. If your manuscript is accepted you will be given the option of paying by credit card or invoice.

Your institution may have pre-paid your open access fees
Some institutions and funders have agreements with Wiley which allow them to cover the cost (in full or in part) of open access for affiliated authors. These agreements are known as Wiley Open Access Accounts. Find out if your institution has a Wiley Open Access Account here: www.wileyauthors.com/instpayment.
Authors from developing countries
JBMR® Plus offers an automatic waiver or discount to authors based in developing countries. Automatic APC waivers and discounts will be given to authors from countries on the Waivers and Discounts List.
Member discount

Referral discount
Authors who choose to transfer their manuscript from JBMR to JBMR® Plus will receive a 20% discount on APCs.
