FASEB Releases Career Planning Tool For Scientists

    Date: September 11, 2012

Searching for the perfect career in science? There’s now an app for that.

The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), along with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), AAAS, and Science Careers have released myIDP, an online tool that helps scientists prepare individualized career development plans based on their career skills, interests, and values.

The free application is the first of its kind and provides assessment exercises, resources for each of the 20 common scientific career paths, and guidance on setting career goals. Users can also sign up for automated reminders to alert them to goal deadlines. To access myIDP, please visit http://myidp.sciencecareers.org.
