    US Supreme Court Rules Against Myriad Genetics in an Important Gene Patenting Case

    The United States Supreme Court recently ruled against Myriad Genetics in the case of the Association of Molecular Pathology v. USPTO and Myriad Genetics. NIH Director Francis Collins made a statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming that he is very pleased with the outcome. Dr. Collins remarked that “the decision represents a victory for all those eagerly awaiting more individualized, gene-based approaches to medical care.”  Read the full statement on the NIH website.
