Joint ASBMR-ECTS Debate at the ECTS/IBMS 2011 Congress

    Date: April 11, 2011

As part of our continued collaboration with the ECTS, the opening ceremony of the ECTS/IBMS 2011 Congress in Athens will include the popular joint ECTS/ASBMR debate. This debate has developed over the past four years and takes place at our respective annual meetings in the US and Europe to discuss topical issues and encourage lively debate with audience participation. The debate will take place on Saturday, May 7th,  at 7 p.m., and Thomas Einhorn (Boston, USA) and Bo Abrahamsen (Copenhagen, Denmark) will debate whether atypical femoral shaft fractures are a consequence of bisphosphonate therapy.

To further develop this productive relationship, the ECTS has also identified a specific ECTS/ASBMR session, ‘The musculo-skeletal unit: from development to aging’ with Elazar Zelzar (Rehovot, Israel) and Eric Orwoll (Portland, USA).

More information about this meeting and the joint ECTS/ASBMR sessions can be found on the ECTS/IBMS 2011 website.
