    JBMR Impact Factor 7.056

    Date: July 10, 2011

The 2010 impact factor for the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR) is 7.056.  This is the highest impact factor in the JBMR's history and the first time the Journal's impact factor has reached 7.  Historically, the JBMR's impact factor has been in the 6.0-6.5 range.

This most recent impact factor is based on citations in 2010 to papers published in the JBMR in 2008 and 2009.  The previous impact factor, for 2009, was 6.043.

Although the impact factor has limitations, it is used world-wide as an indicator of a Journal's influence. The JBMR continues to have the highest impact factor of all journals in the bone field and ranks 10th among the 116 journals in its impact factor category (endocrinology and metabolism).
