Go4Life Campaign – Fitness for Older Adults

    Date: November 01, 2011

On October 19, 2011, Go4Life was introduced by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at a briefing on exercise and aging on Capitol Hill. The federal program is meant to encourage people 50 and older to make physical activity a regular part of their day. The campaign was formed by the National Institute on Aging (NIA). Only a quarter of the population ages 65-74 say they engage in daily leisure-time physical activity. This is despite the proven health benefits that regular exercise can provide. The Go4Life website is the center of the program, providing information and motivation for physical activity.
