CASIS Releases Request for Information to Enable Disease Model Research on the International Space Station
Date: October 15, 2014
The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) has released a Request For Information to identify and gather information from subject matter experts and entities with experience in human disease research, disease modeling and translational medicine that may be applied to accelerate research in disease pathophysiology, target identification and the in vivo evaluation of novel therapeutic agents and treatments using animal models and/or cell-based models in microgravity. Based on expertise available, CASIS may issue a Request for Proposals that will provide funding for flight research on the International Space Station National Lab seeking to use animal or cell-based models in microgravity for human disease modeling. CASIS must receive white papers by 5:00 PM EST on November 14, 2014. More information, including the submission instructions is available on the CASIS website.
