    JBMR® Editor-in-Chief Receives Prestigious Award from British Monarchy

    JBMR® Editor-in-Chief Juliet Compston, M.D., FRCP, has been made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. According to the British Monarchy, this prestigious honor “recognizes distinguished service to the arts and sciences, public services outside the Civil Service and work with charitable and welfare organizations of all kinds.” Dr. Compston will receive her award for services to the treatment of osteoporosis at the March investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London. According to colleague and former JBMR® Associate Editor Peter Ebeling, MBBS, M.D., FRACP, “this award is a singular honor for a researcher in our field, a great personal achievement, and a wonderful statement of success for other women pursuing a life in science or medicine.”
