    ASBMR Member Receives President Obama’s Early Career Award

    ASBMR member Dr. Joshua Alwood received President Obama’s Early Career Award in late December 2013. Dr. Alwood, along with 101 other scientists and engineers, will accept his award early this year. The Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government for professionals in the early stages of their research careers. Dr. Alwood is a postdoctoral fellow at NASA’s Ames Research Center and investigates the effects of spaceflight on bone. Read more about Dr. Alwood’s research on the NASA website.
