NIH Begins Implementation of Omnibus Appropriation Bill Provisions

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently released a notice regarding several important policies that now implement provisions contained in the recently passed 2014 Fiscal Year Omnibus Appropriations Bill. The notice provides a breakdown of NIH fiscal policies that will be instituted in FY 2014, and offers informative expansion on each. Specifically, the report delves into the logistics of FY 2014 Funding Levels, stipend levels for such training awards as NRSA, the continuation of NIH’s support for new investigators and increased salary limits. The NIH received an increase of $1 billion over FY 2013 as a result of the Appropriations Act, an increase that is reflected in each notice provided above.
