ASBMR Diversity Subcommittee Hosts their First Research Interest Meeting
Date: April 07, 2020
Last week, the ASBMR Diversity Subcommittee hosted their first Research Interest Meeting in which over 20 participants joined to listen to the presentations of 5 ASBMR members in the underrepresented minority (URM) community. These meetings were initiated with the goal of having participants within the ASBMR URM community join to share information about themselves and the work they are currently doing in the field, and to better engage members from a variety of racial, ethnic, cultural, and geographical backgrounds to foster a community outside of the ASBMR Annual Meeting. Last week, several connections were made, collaborations were initiated and great conversation was had. All ASBMR members are welcome and encouraged to join future Research Interest Meetings. If you are interested in presenting or just joining the conversation, please fill out the research interest form for future meetings!
