The ASBMR Abstract Center is now open and accepting abstracts for the ASBMR 2024 Annual Meeting in Toronto, ON, Canada, September 27-30, 2024. Join thousands of scientists in the bone, mineral and musculoskeletal field who will submit an abstract to this premier meeting! For more information about abstract submission, please visit the meeting website or contact the ASBMR Business Office at abstracts@asbmr.org

The ASBMR and the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) are partnering to advocate for increased funding for the NIH and other U.S. federal agencies. It is critical for Members of Congress to hear regularly from their constituents on the importance of funding for biomedical research, and the real-life benefits to their districts.

The ASBMR and BHOF will facilitate legislative visits to Members of Congress in their home (in-state) offices throughout May. U.S.-based volunteers are needed. Meetings will be scheduled based on your and the legislative staff’s availability.

Please visit the ASBMR website for more information and to register.

ASBMR has partnered with Figure1 on a new season of the DDx podcast to explore the complex world of rare bone diseases and how advances in medical research are offering patients more options and more hope. Hosted by Dr. Raj Bhardwaj, the goal of the podcast is to raise awareness of rare bone diseases and understand how to recognize, diagnose, and manage rare bone disease cases.

Episode 1: Biosimilars and the Quiet Revolution in Medicine
This episode of DDx is sponsored by Sandoz

A 62-year-old falls and fractures her wrist. This simple fracture reveals underlying osteoporosis, requiring lifelong (and expensive) medication. But this is where biosimilars come in. Biosimilars are extremely similar to the original drug they're designed to imitate, but much cheaper. This makes them more accessible to more people, meaning fewer fractures … better health … a better economy … and ultimately, a better quality of life.
