ASBMR Young Investigator Annual Meeting Travel Grant
The Young Investigator Travel Grant is awarded to the ASBMR member Young Investigators who are selected to present an oral, plenary poster or presentation at the ASBMR Annual Meeting. ASBMR Young Investigator Travel Grants will provide $500 for North American-based applicants and $750 for all other applicants. Eligible applicants must:
- Be an ASBMR member paid through the end of 2022
- Be the first and presenting author of the abstract
- Be a student/trainee or within five years of completion of a Ph.D., M.D., residency training or equivalent
- Have not received any other ASBMR funded-travel or young investigator support for the 2022 Annual Meeting
The five years of eligibility are defined to extend from the end of the calendar year of the date of graduation or, if applicable, of completion of residency training or clinical subspecialty fellowship training, to the submission deadline date. Clinical subspecialty fellowship training is considered to end no later than the point at which the individual becomes board eligible. To petition for an extension of eligibility, please contact the ASBMR prior to the abstract submission deadline.
The ASBMR Young Investigator Travel Grant program has been expanded for 1 year and will only apply to ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting oral, plenary poster or poster presentations.
ASBMR Young Investigator Emerging Country Travel Grant
The ASBMR Young Investigator Emerging Country Travel Grant will be given to a recipient from outside North America. Recipient must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a first and presenting author on an abstract submitted to the ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting that receives a poster presentation
- Be an ASBMR member paid through the end of 2022
- Be a student/trainee or within five years of completion of a Ph.D., M.D., residency training or equivalent
- Have not received any other ASBMR-funded travel or young investigator support for the 2022 Annual Meeting
- Must currently reside in a developing country
Up to six (6) $750 travel grants will be awarded.
ASBMR Mid-Career Faculty Travel Grant
The Mid-Career Faculty Travel Grant is awarded to top Mid-Career Investigators who are selected to present an oral presentation at the ASBMR Annual Meeting. The ASBMR Mid-Career Travel Grant will provide $500 for North American-based applicants and $750 for all other applicants. Eligible applicants must:
- Be the first and presenting author of the abstract
- Be an ASBMR member paid through the end of 2022
- Have held a Ph.D. or M.D. degree for more than 5 years and less than 25 years
- Have not received any other ASBMR funded-travel or young investigator support for the 2022 Annual Meeting
Up to forty (40) travel grants will be made available in 2022. The ASBMR Mid-Career Faculty Travel Grant program has been expanded for 1 year will only apply to ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting oral presentations.
ASBMR Research Team Travel Grant
The Research Team Travel Grant is awarded to mid-career and senior investigators to help defray travel and lodging expenses for recipients and one individual from their research team to attend the ASBMR Annual Meeting. Abstracts must be selected as an oral or plenary poster presentation at the ASBMR Annual Meeting. The ASBMR Research Team Travel Grants range from $1,000 to $1,500 each. Eligible applicants must:
- Be a first or last author of the abstract
- Be an ASBMR member paid through the end of 2022
- Have held a Ph.D. or M.D. degree for more than 5 years
- Neither the applicant nor the travel-funded research team colleague may be eligible for this award if they are receiving any other ASBMR-funded travel or young investigator travel support for the 2021 Annual Meeting
Up to five (5) travel grants will be made available in 2022.
ASBMR Family Care Travel Grant
The Family Care Travel Grant provides financial support to offset the cost of childcare, eldercare, or other family care, enabling meeting attendees with dependents more financial freedom to attend the ASBMR Annual Meeting. The Family Care Travel Grant provides $400 to each recipient. Eligible applicants must:
- Be the first and presenting author of a submitted abstract to the ASBMR Annual Meeting
- Be an ASBMR member paid through the end of 2022
- Have at least one (1) dependent
The ASBMR Family Care Travel Grant is open to all career levels. Recipients receiving any other ASBMR-funded travel or young investigator travel support for the Annual Meeting are also eligible to receive a Family Care Travel Grant assuming they meet the program’s eligibility criteria.
The grant is intended to offset any of the following expenses so that the recipient may attend the annual meeting:
- Dependent care expenses (incurred at home or in the annual meeting city)
- Expenses incurred in bringing a caregiver and/or dependent(s) to the annual meeting city
- Travel of a relative or caregiver to the recipient’s home to care for a dependent(s)
- Travel of the recipient’s dependent(s) to the location of a relative or caregiver
- Only one (1) Family Care Grant per family is permitted
Up to twenty (20) grants will be made available in 2022.
