  • Dear Colleagues,

Hearing from you – our members, the ASBMR Council is excited to share that the ASBMR 2021 Annual Meeting will be held in the United States as an in-person event from October 1-4, with the ability to experience the meeting virtually, in real time. This decision is grounded in members’ direct feedback from the travel survey conducted last month.

We recognize that there are factors that may prevent some from attending this year’s Annual Meeting in person.  That is why we are committed to also providing a robust, synchronous virtual experience that includes:

    • The ability for ALL presenters to share their science with the bone, mineral and musculoskeletal community — Submit your abstract by May 12!
    • High-impact educational offerings that will allow you to interact with thought leaders in the field regardless of your physical location
    • Innovative networking opportunities that will connect you to other attendees with similar interests — globally
    • The chance to connect with our valued corporate partners and exhibitors

Further, the lessons learned from this year’s innovative approach will help guide the look and offerings of our meetings in the future.

We are confident that the format of this year’s ASBMR Annual Meeting provides the greatest opportunity for our entire community to come together during these extraordinary times — either in person or virtually. Further details on the location of the U.S.-based, in-person event will be announced in the coming weeks.

As an inclusive, global society, it is our mission to ensure that YOUR voice is represented by providing you with the opportunity to not only attend this year’s meeting, but also present your impactful research, whether you are attending in person or virtually. Please submit your abstract to the ASBMR 2021 Annual Meeting by Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

    Sincerely,

Suzanne M. Jan de Beur, M.D.

    ASBMR President
