  • NBHA 20/20 Vision

    Date: December 5, 2011

The National Bone Health Alliance (NBHA) and Kaiser Permanente recently unveiled their "20/20 Vision" for reducing hip and other fractures by 20 percent by 2020 at a best practices sharing event at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health in Washington DC last month. A key element in the proposal to decrease hip fractures includes the establishment of a fracture liaison service facilitated by NBHA within Medicare and other health systems. The service would assess patients for osteoporosis fracture and provide treatment and follow-up to manage the disease and prevent repeat fractures. ASBMR is one of the founding members of the NBHA. Its Governing Committee is chaired by ASBMR Immediate Past President Sundeep Khosla.
