- Volunteer leaders play an active role in advancing the Society and driving our strategic goals forward, and if you have ever wanted to get involved—now is the time.
- The Society is currently accepting applications for volunteer leadership positions including for President-elect, three Council positions and most standing Committees.
- We are looking for volunteers from all career levels, scientific research areas, and cultural backgrounds.
- I encourage each member to nominate a colleague or to self-nominate to actively contribute to advancing ASBMR’s strategic goals.

Search for the Next JBMR Editor-in-Chief
- Speaking of volunteer opportunities, the Society will begin accepting in early March applications from members to serve as the next Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR®).

ASBMR Esteemed Awards
- Each year the Society recognizes its members’ scientific achievements and contributions to the field.
- This year’s award recipients will be honored at the ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting this September in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Nominations for 2022 ASBMR Esteemed Award recipients is now open through Friday, May 13.

ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting Abstracts Submission Deadline
- Finally, I am happy to announce that the abstract submission deadline for this year’s ASBMR Annual Meeting occurring September 9-12 in Austin, Texas, USA will be Wednesday, May 4.
- Individuals can submit their abstract through the ASBMR website starting in mid-March.
- Don’t miss this opportunity to have your science presented to the top minds in the field of bone and mineral metabolism at the premier global event in the field – the ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting.

The ASBMR Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for President-Elect and Councilor (three positions) to stand for election by the membership in the summer of 2022. The Society also seeks nominations for open committee chair and member positions. All elected officers, councilors, and committee members serve three year terms that begin following the 2022 Annual Meeting this fall. Open vacancies on each committee are listed here. To nominate a colleague, please submit an application. Nomination applications must be submitted by Friday, March 18, 2022.
