We are excited to share three major announcements about the ASBMR 2021 Annual Meeting! First, we know the new location of the ASBMR 2021 Annual Meeting has been eagerly awaited! We are thrilled to announce that the meeting will be held in sunny San Diego, California, USA. We also know that travel is still difficult for many of our members around the world, which is why we are providing a robust, synchronous virtual experience. Experience all the benefits of attending the ASBMR 2021 Annual Meeting, in real time, from the comfort of your home or office.
Our second announcement is we want everyone who wants to attend the ASBMR Annual Meeting in person to be able to and we recognize that travel costs may be a barrier now more than ever. We’re excited to announce that we are expanding the number of travel grants available for ASBMR early stage and mid-career members. Details about the expanded travel grant program will be shared over the coming weeks, but know that we are committed to our members and your ability to share your research.
Our final announcement is ASBMR recognizes that late-breaking findings of broad and exceptional importance may occur after our initial abstract deadline has passed. While we received a strong number of abstract submissions last month, we also appreciate that uncertainty around the pandemic, meeting location, travel and funding may have discouraged some members from submitting abstracts by the initial deadline.
Therefore, starting on July 7, we invite you to submit abstracts on clinical, basic and/or translational subjects that describe novel, groundbreaking research findings of the highest scientific impact. All abstracts must be submitted by July 28.
We are confident that the format of the ASBMR 2021 Annual Meeting provides the greatest opportunity for our community to come together during these extraordinary times — either in person in San Diego or virtually — and we’re delighted to expand opportunities for both travel grants and abstract submissions.
