Welcome to the ASBMR Fund for Research and Education Scavenger Hunt + Fun Walk! This event will take place from Friday, September 9th thru Monday, September 12th during ASBMR’s Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas, USA. We want to see ASBMR’s 2022 meeting through your eyes!
SCAVENGER HUNT + FUN WALK
Social media plays a big role in ASBMR’s Annual Meeting. It connects the bone, mineral and musculoskeletal community, whether in-person, or from afar! It’ll be a way for members to get together in person, meet new friends and meet exhibitors all while having fun seeing the sites in Austin, and raising money for the ASBMR Fund for Research and Education.
You can participate in this year’s Scavenger Hunt + Fun Walk by completing daily tasks and sharing your Annual Meeting experiences on Twitter for everyone to see! You don’t have to complete everything on the lists to participate, however, the more you play, the better your chances are to win prizes, including Amazon Gift Cards, and the GRAND PRIZE including a complimentary 2023 ASBMR membership and a full-meeting registration! Winners will be notified after the meeting, and announced in the September 22, 2022 issue of ASBMR’s weekly e-Newsletter.
HOW IT WORKS
Share your experiences on Twitter and completing daily tasks to win prizes!
- If you don’t have a public Twitter account, create one today. This will be your first step!
- Complete as many of the tasks listed for each day; the more you play, your chances of winning goes up!
- For each task, take a selfie (when prompted) to share with everyone! When posting photos of others, make sure they consent and are comfortable with this.
- Post your selfie on Twitter and use hashtag #ASBMRFUNDplay.
- The more times you post, the higher your chances are to win. Happy hunting!
- If you would like to enter without posting photos to Twitter, send your photos (clearly labeled with the hashtag #ASBMRFUNDplay) to scavenger@asbmr.org.

Complete all of the following tasks and post each of them on Twitter using the hashtag #ASBMRFUNDplay before the end of each day.

- Find the Convention Center Marquee; take a selfie in front of it
- Make a donation* to the ASBMR Fund for Research and Education (Note: This task is not required to be posted on Twitter)
- Play ASBMR Bingo (organized by the Early Investigator Subcommittee); See an ASBMR staff member at the ASBMR Help Desk for details!
- Attend the Welcome Reception in Discovery Hall and take a selfie with an ASBMR staff person
- Visit Ultragenyx booth #400, meet the staff and take a selfie
- Dine at:
- Swift’s Attic** from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., 315 Congress Ave., or
- Easy Tiger** from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., 1501 E 7th St.
Day 2 – Saturday, September 10, 2022
- Visit Austin’s Visitors Center (across the street from the Convention Center)
- Take a selfie with ASBMR President Peter Ebeling, AO, M.D., FRACP & Doug Fesler, ASBMR’s Executive Director
- Bring a meeting attendee with you back to the Ultragenyx booth #400, introduce them and take a selfie
- Attend an Informational/Product Theater and take a selfie in front of the Theater
- Ask a member to make a donation* to the ASBMR Fund for Research and Education (Note: This task is not required to be posted on Twitter)
- Dine at:
- Swift’s Attic** from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., 315 Congress Ave., or
- Easy Tiger** from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., 1501 E 7th St.
Day 3 – Sunday, September 11, 2022
- Find the ATX MetroBike Bike Share Station; take a selfie in front of it
- Take a selfie with ASBMR President-elect Mary Bouxsein, Ph.D.
- Take a selfie in front of the Donor Wall
- Take a selfie in front of the Sponsor Wall
- Bring another meeting attendee with you back to the Ultragenyx booth #400, introduce them and take a selfie
- Attend the Town Hall Meeting and take a photo with two members
- Dine at Easy Tiger**, 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., 1501 7th St.
Day 4 – Monday, September 12, 2022
- Attend the Closing Reception, take a selfie and post what your favorite part of the 2022 ASBMR Annual Meeting was, and why.
