Annual Meeting Volunteers
Annually the ASBMR Scientific Program Committee seeks members who are willing to serve as an abstract reviewer or as an oral session moderator for the ASBMR Annual Meeting. Only ASBMR members are allowed to take advantage of this opportuntity to engage with fellow researchers, physicians, and experts in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field.
Abstract Reviewers:
Fair and thoughtful selection of the abstracts for presentation at the meeting is of utmost importance in preserving the academic excellence and leadership role of our Society. As an abstract reviewer you must:
- Be a current, paid ASBMR member
- Review and score approximately 50-100 abstracts
- Confirm agreemtn to keep the abstracts' contents confidentail and disclose any conflicts
- Be an expert in the assigned review category
- Be available for the Early Spring review period
Oral Session Moderators
Abstract selected as oral presentations represent the most highly rated science submitted to the Annual Meeting. As a session moderator, you must:
- Be a current, paid ASBMR member
- Be available to attend the Annual Meeting
- Ensure that the session you chair begins and ends on time and that each oral presenter limits their talk to the designated time allotment
- Facilitate questions and answers between the audience and the presenter when necessary
Those who are interested in serving in this capacity must fill out an application form in Early Winter. The Scientific Program Committee will review all volunteer submissions. Those selected as abstract reviewers will be sent invitations in March and invitations for moderators are sent in June/July.
Applications are not currently being accepted. They will open in Winter 2021.
