ASBMR is pleased to announce a new cohort program designed for undergraduate, graduate, and medical professional students involved in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. This cohort program provides accepted applicants with free ASBMR membership in exchange for their participation in monthly educational and networking activities, as well as providing feedback on their experiences with the program and other areas of ASBMR membership.
The application period for the 2021 pilot program has now closed. All accepted applicants have been notified of their acceptance. Please contact ASBMR offices at email@example.com if you have not received an acceptance notification.
All applicants must be Undergraduate/Graduate/Medical Professional current students performing basic/translational/clinical research in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. Students who have not participated in any ASBMR activities in the past will receive preference. Students must provide an anticipated graduation date as part of their application to verify their student status. Students who anticipate graduating in Spring 2021 are still encouraged to apply for this cohort.
Applicants must complete an online application. The application must include a letter of support from an ASBMR member in good standing (mentor, co-mentor, or institution-affiliated) as well as a letter indicating how participating in this cohort will enhance their overall scientific career goals. Both letters should be no more than one-page in length. Accepted file types include .doc, .docx, and .pdf.
Notification of Acceptance Into Cohort:
Applications will be reviewed upon submission. Accepted applicants will be notified by the ASBMR offices of their acceptance.
Accepted applicants agree to participate in at least 50% of the monthly educational and networking activities that will be coordinated on behalf of this cohort beginning in March 2021. A calendar of events will be posted for the cohort events for planning purposes.
Accepted applicants also agree to participate in 100% of focus group surveys and questionnaires that will be distributed to the group during various times throughout the year.
