Volunteer Opportunities

ASBMR has several ways to get involved with the Society that align with your interests, expertise, and schedule. Questions? Email asbmr@asbmr.org.

Ambassador Subcommittee

The ASBMR Ambassadors Subcommittee consists of dynamic leaders who facilitate networking, professional development, and collaboration among ASBMR members in their state, region, or country to strengthen the ASBMR and the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal research science field on a global level. Have an idea on how ASBMR could better engage bone researchers and clinicians in your area? Please contact us at asbmr@asbmr.org.

JBMR® and JBMR® Plus Reviewer

ASBMR’s journals are seeking reviewers to join the growing list of bone and musculoskeletal experts who review papers for the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR®) and JBMR® Plus. Active reviewers for JBMR® and JBMR® Plus are among the top candidates when selecting new Editorial Board members as vacancies become available. The Guide for Reviewers is an essential resource.

Reviewer Training Track

The Reviewer Training Track combines one-on-one mentorship with an Editorial Board member or experienced reviewer, reviewer development webinars, and opportunities to meet with the Editors. The training track is open to all ASBMR members who have completed at least two years of Master's, PhD, MD, or another terminal degree/equivalent education, and who have a keen interest in scholarly publishing and a desire to contribute as a reviewer.

The ASBMR Mentorship Program stands as a beacon of tailored guidance for our members. Crafted to offer personalized mentorship, the program centers around specific objectives — whether it's refining a manuscript, securing a postdoc position, or applying for a prestigious grant or award. Within this partnership, mentors and mentees collaborate closely, channeling their combined efforts towards accomplishing these targeted goals. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, reach out to asbmr@asbmr.org.
