    Message from ASBMR President Mary L. Bouxsein, Ph.D. – April 27, 2023

    Dear Colleagues:

I’m excited for our ASBMR community to gather in Vancouver, BC, Canada, October 13-16, 2023 for our Annual Meeting.  The Program Committee — Drs. Larry Suva, Joy Wu, Hanna Taipaleenmäki and Sabashini Ramchand — have been working hard and they have some great science and networking sessions planned for you.  We can’t wait — so get your abstracts in as the submission deadline (May 10th) is fast approaching. Click here for the abstract submission portal.

See below for some exciting opportunities surrounding Annual Meeting and a plea for you to participate in our Biannual Member Needs Assessment.

Annual Meeting Awards and Travel Grant Opportunities
This year the ASBMR is providing over $140,000 in abstract-based awards and travel grants for members at all career stages to attend this October’s Annual Meeting. There are travel awards for early and mid-career investigators, for research teams, and family travel grants for those who need assistance with childcare during the meeting.  Check them out and apply!

    Biannual Member Needs Assessment
Last week we sent out an email containing a link to the Biannual Member Needs Assessment. Your input is needed to guide the future directions of ASBMR to better serve you and our community, in an effort to advance science, enhance your career development and engage as a community.

The 2023 member needs assessment will remain open through May 1, 2023. At the end of the survey, you have the option of entering a drawing to win one of five complimentary registrations to the ASBMR 2023 Annual Meeting (up to an $800 value). Please contact the ASBMR Business Office if you did not receive the email.
