The society is pleased to announce Allyson McNally, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, and Stacy Nelson, MSN, FNP-BC, the 2025 recipients of the Betsy Love McClung, RN, MN Travel Grant.
Mrs. McNally is a nurse practitioner and program director in the Division of Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic with a primary focus on caring for patients with post-menopausal and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, as well as primary hyperparathyroidism. Recently, her practice has expanded to include patients undergoing neurosurgical interventions and those on endocrine therapy for breast cancer, with the goal of maintaining their skeletal health during procedures or treatments.
Ms. Nelson is a nurse practitioner and supports Dr. Theresa Guise's bone health practice at MD Anderson Cancer Center, the only facility in the country that focuses primarily on bone health in the setting of cancer diagnoses. Their patient population includes oncology patients who have osteoporosis or who are at risk for developing osteoporosis; patients with bone metastases; and patients with metabolic bone disorders such as Paget's Disease, fibrous dysplasia, and tumor-induced osteomalacia.
The ASBMR Betsy Love McClung, RN, MN Travel Grant, is given in memory of Betsy Love McClung, RN, MN and her role in supporting the professional development of nurses and allied health professionals caring for patients with osteoporosis. This grant is funded by the ASBMR Fund for Research and Education. Congratulations once again to Mrs. McNally and Ms. Nelson!
