ASBMR Programs
ASBMR Mentorship Program:
The ASBMR Mentorship Program offers personalized, goal-driven support for members — whether you’re refining a manuscript, applying for a grant or planning your next career move. The program pairs early- and mid-career members with seasoned mentors for focused, collaborative partnerships that foster growth, resilience and engagement within the musculoskeletal research community.
Expectations of Mentors:
- Be a current ASBMR member in good standing
- Meet with your assigned mentee as needed for the duration of the program (i.e. 3 – 9 months depending on the mentee’s needs)
THRIVE by ASBMR:
THRIVE by ASBMR delivers individualized mentorship and high-quality professional development to early-career scientists and clinicians who identify as underrepresented in biomedical and behavioral science, and who have research interests in fields related to the mission of the ASBMR. Selected participants will enter a 2-year program that includes monthly professional development and mentoring sessions, travel support to attend functions at the ASBMR Annual Meeting and selection priority for a variety of society leadership opportunities.
Expectations of Mentors:
- Meet with your assigned THRIVE Scholar for 1 hour each month for the duration of the program (i.e., 2 years).
- Meet with the THRIVE Scholar at the annual meeting and provide networking opportunities.
- Assist the THRIVE Scholar in formalizing two Individual Development Plans (IDP); one related to the Promotion and Tenure Guidelines at the Scholar’s academic institution and the second related to career and leadership development within the ASBMR.
- Advocate and recruit, particularly non-members, for the THRIVE Program.
Reviewer Training Track:
The Reviewer Training Track combines one-on-one mentorship with an Editorial Board member or experienced reviewer, reviewer development webinars, and opportunities to meet with the Editors. The training track is open to all ASBMR members who have completed at least 2 years of Master's, PhD, MD, or another terminal degree/equivalent education, and who have a keen interest in scholarly publishing and a desire to contribute as a reviewer.

The deadline for the current cycle is November 21, 2025.
Thank you for your participation in our programs. We value your interest in serving your Society and advancing the field of bone and mineral metabolism!
