Congratulations to Betiana Perez, 2019 Recipient of the ASBMR Phoebe Leboy Award!

The Women in Bone and Mineral Research Committee is pleased to announce the 2019 recipient of the ASBMR Phoebe Leboy Award, Betiana Perez.
Dr. Perez graduated from National University of La Plata School of Medicine in 2010 and completed postgraduate education in Endocrinology at Durand Hospital, Buenos Aires in 2015. She specializes in Bone and Mineral Metabolism at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. Her research interests revolve around chronic kidney disease and bone and mineral disorders. In the long-term, she expects to continue her training in bone histomorphometric analysis to help diagnosis and treat children and adults with chronic kidney disease and bone disease.
The Phoebe Leboy Professional Development Award provides a female young investigator who resides outside the United States with the resources needed for her to attend the ASBMR Annual Meeting, mentorship from senior women in the field, and complimentary membership in the Society. The award is named in honor of the legacy and contributions of Dr. Phoebe Leboy, a longstanding ASBMR member who dedicated her life to the mentoring of future generations of scientific investigators.
